My steam client, like most other programs, is on my 2nd monitor, and when I tried to install a game, the default drive is the only drive that shows up. I was having the same issue as you, and so many people assumed other drives didn't have official steam folders. I literally moved the Install Box to my main window and the drop down popped up. I dont know if its steam or my PC but I have 2 Monitors and for some reason the drop down doesn't work when steam is loaded on my second monitor. You can always clear your download cahce just to be sure. Usually restarting steam or windows fixes it. Because that will cause your issue.īut ocassionally though I've seen this hiccup myself. External drives tend to power down after a while of no use, so make sure first off this isn't the case. I have installed games on my other hard drives before, now i can only select 1 of them (the C drive doesnt even show up) Sometimes, this can go a bit weird if you're using external drives (as I do).įirst off, you can get this when you don't have some of the power saving settings set correctly. Like i said, When i go to download it only shows 1 place to install, I have a Steam directory in all four of my hard drives. Downloading is a different issue all together, this will basically use your system's temporary storage space which is usually on the system drive (C).
